From SearchKI
Let there be SearchKI
SearchKI is a Wiki Search Engine based on the MediaWiki Software, which is also used to run Wikipedia and countless other websites. Believe it or not, they all started out with one page, too. If you're looking for a place to upload some photos, jot down notes on a map, or the perfect result for Led Zeppelin Tabs, SearckKI is where you'll find a good home.
Getting started
Hello World. I'm Tom. FYI, SearchKI is a work in progress. I was planning on launching it all at once, but then decided it would be just as effective to start building it live, with a fresh install of mediawiki. If you have any Mediawiki, PHP or Javascript experience and would like to help out, please contact Tom here -> tom (a-t) searchki (*) com.
First Glance
Here's a screen shot to give you an idea of where we're I'm going with this. The search bar will be a little smaller, fixed, and will have a single drop down menu, with a GO button.
The wikipedia open source platform is the perfect CMS to store every search query you can think up. This format-less structure allow you do document reference info, robust link lists, image galleries, maps, and much more. It's great for tracking information on businesses, local event information, people, manuals, RSS readers, maps, places to buy things, and so on.
